Hey guys, happy weekend! Before we jump into our gaming plans, let’s take a quick look back at the past week.

Reviews were the big focus this week, with some major games getting some love:
Hades II – 9/10
Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles – 9/10
EA SPORTS FC 26 – 8/10
Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac – 7/10
Agatha Christie – Death on the Nile – 8/10

In the news, the big news is that Nintendo of America’s President, Doug Bowser, is retiring at the end of the year. Devon Pritchard is taking over, while Satoru Shibata will be the new CEO of NoA. Yakuza Kiwami 3 is coming to the Switch 2 with a new story, and Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is teaming up with Mega Man for some cool DLC.

Borderlands 4, originally set for an October release, has been delayed. Not a huge shocker, considering the packed schedule of game releases. We can wait a bit longer for this one. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Alright, so I finally finished Hollow Knight this week, clocking in almost 30 hours with a 74% completion rate. I went back, grabbed some more masks and grubs, and took down a couple of optional bosses, bumping me up to 81%. I should probably stop now – Hades 2 won’t play itself, and I’ve got nothing left to spend Geo on. BUT! Beating the final Colosseum of Fools trial will get me another Pale Ore (I think?), and then I can upgrade my nail one more time, which would be cool. Can I resist seeing that percentage hit 100 112?

I also started Star Wars Outlaws, which feels very Ubisoft-esque, but not bad – looking forward to diving in more. Oh, and I splurged on Nier Automata for my Switch 2. Even though it’s not officially S2 compatible, I’ll give it a shot there and switch back to my OLED if I run into any issues. Have a good one, folks!

This weekend, I’m planning to jump back into SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance and see if that resolution update actually made a difference. It’s such a fantastic game, but man, does it look rough on the Switch 2. Hades 2 is also on my radar, and if I can squeeze in the time, I want to check out The Touryst: Deluxe. Oh, and I snagged Silent Hill f on the PS5, so that’s high on my list. Have a great weekend!

In the home stretch of Silksong, inching towards the first ending. Not that I want it to end, mind you, but my September backlog is already giving me the evil eye, and I dread to think what it’ll look like post-October game releases. Between Silksong sessions, I’ve been chipping away at Clair Obscur (also very, very good), and I recently snagged Metaphor: ReFantazio and Undertale, games I’ve surprisingly never played. Oh, and Hades 2 is ready and waiting for me whenever I find a spare moment. So, a pretty chill weekend ahead!

Finishing up Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, with each level presenting a test of skill, patience, and a bit of luck – just another day in the life of a ninja. Being a mech and SRPG fan, I grabbed Relayer Advanced Definitive Edition, and it’s been a blast so far. The long-awaited Hades 2 is finally out of early access and a timed exclusive on Switch hardware. I may be a bit rusty, but Melinoë is holding her own against Zagreus. Couldn’t resist picking up the physical edition before November hits. UFO 50 report: 19 of 50 games played. Golfaria is quite the experience! My game of the week remains Star Wars Outlaws, with Akiva next on the quest list after completing Kijimi. Saving Tatooine for last, can’t wait for that adventure.

Still hooked on Hades 2 for the foreseeable future, eager to explore all the post-credits content. Also tempted to start fresh and go through the game all over again. Supergiant really spoils us with their games. On another note, still resisting the urge to start a new save in Silksong. Luckily, I’ll be away this weekend, so I probably won’t give in to my gaming temptations just yet. Enjoy your weekend, everyone! Spooky season is on the horizon!
